Season very cold, very wet and very nice by the fire. 

New born lambs dotting the green, green paddocks like cotton balls.  Wattles just showing a hint of pale yellow buds and the hardenbergias (native sarsparilla or happy wanderer) about to burst into cascades of purple.  A couple of sunny days and we whip off the woollies believing it’s Spring.

The renewal theme continues in the garden where the straw bale walls are gradually morphing into mulch and Fiona, our new influence in the garden, is creating a new garden landscape.  By the time the veggie boxes are in place it should look pretty fantastic.

In the kitchen - another good influence. 

Our chef, Nigel Robinson, is a Yorkshireman and a master in the art of  pastry.  Nigel did his apprenticeship at the Savoy, London and cooked his way to Ruffy via Germany, France, Canada.  The  rugged Strathbogie Ranges remind him of Yorkshire and his beautiful dishes constantly remind us what really good      cooking is all about. 

Nigel’s Tarte Tatin is just perfect and so are the Ruffy Puffy sausage rolls, the roast beef and Yorkshire pud, the  twice cooked free range Berkshire pork in a fennel & apple jus with red cabbage braised in apple cider and roasted root vegetables.

Le Tour de France - Le Tour de Ruf 

No need to leap into lycra to enjoy a Tour de Ruf—winding roads, wonderful    scenery, fabulous food and elegant wines from the Strathbogie Ranges and Upper Goulburn wine  regions. Congratulations to Kinloch Wines for their sparkling     success in the Fed Square Wine Awards.

AFL Grand Final on the biggish screen with beer and pizzas and a BBQ to follow

Woodfired Pizza  every Friday night to eat in or take away and we will have a  significant woodfired event to celebrate our 8th birthday in the Spring. Date TBA

Open on Friday for lunch from 11am and woodfired pizzas from 5.30pm to around 8.30pm

Saturday, Sunday and public holidays we open for breakfast from 8am      and lunch from 12 noon.  Bookings are a good idea.
